SWEP B5T brazed plate heat exchanger, representative of B5THx40/1P-SC-M 4x3/4"&16(20)

Description

B5THx40/1P-SC-M 4x3/4"&16(20) designates a SWEP B5T brazed plate heat exchanger with 40 plates in the pack. The H plate is the obtuse chevron: it gives the most heat transfer per plate and the most pressure drop, so it suits duties where approach temperature matters more than pump head. Reading the string: /1P is single pass; -SC is 316/316L stainless steel plates joined with copper. The closing M is the pressure class: up to 45 bar at 135 C, fatigue tested. Connections are listed as 4x3/4"&16(20), in port order. The B5T plate pack measures 193 x 76 mm (7.6 x 2.99 in) on 154 x 40 mm port centres, and by SWEP's published weight formula a 40-plate unit comes to about 2.3 kg (5.1 lb) dry. Maximum flow for the frame is 4 m3/h (17.61 GPM); that is a ceiling for the ports, not a duty point. If the duty has changed since the original equipment went in, send the flows and both inlet conditions and we will confirm wether this configuration still fits.
