The MC material code means molybdenum steel: SMO 254 rather than 316.
SMO 254 plates, not 316. 525 x 243 mm with up to 280 plates and 335.5 GPM - the MC build, with high-molybdenum plates for water that pits ordinary stainless.
That is a specific answer to a specific failure mode - chlorides pitting stainless. Pool water, seawater and brackish cooling water all do this, and 316 does not reliably survive it. This is not a margin-of-safety question; it is a right-material question, and a 316 frame in that service can fail inside a season.
Asymmetric channels and a full plate ceiling. 0.21/0.297 dm3 channels, copper brazing, threaded and solder connections, PED, UL and KHK approvals. Twenty-five configurations on file, most behind 2" ports.
Reading the part number. A B56 is ordered as a full string - frame, plate type, plate count, pass arrangement, materials and pressure class, for example B56H/1P-MC-S. Every field is decodable: the model number guide explains each one, and the string off your nameplate, complete or partial, is enough for us to confirm the build and quote it.
SMO 254 high-molybdenum plates - the chloride-resistant frame for pool and seawater duty.

The B56 measures 525 x 243 mm (20.67 x 9.57 in) over the plate pack, with port centres of 430 x 148 mm (16.93 x 5.83 in). Connections on the catalogued builds: Threaded, Solder.
SWEP publishes the weight as 0.42 kg per plate, so the plate count off the nameplate sets what the mounting has to carry.
If the unit coming out is 316 and failed by pitting, matching it like-for-like repeats the failure - this is the frame that service actually calls for.
