E5ASHx18/1P-SC-S 4x3/4"

E5ASHx18/1P-SC-S 4x3/4" designates a SWEP E5AS brazed plate heat exchanger with 18 plates in the pack. The H plate is the obtuse chevron: it gives the most heat transfer per plate and the most pressure drop, so it suits duties where approach temperature matters more than pump head. The /1P-SC fields read as single pass, with 316/316L stainless steel plates and a copper braze. The closing S is the pressure class: 31 bar at 155 C. The connection field reads 4x3/4". The E5AS plate pack measures 192 x 73 mm (7.56 x 2.87 in) on 154 x 40 mm port centres, and by SWEP's published weight formula a 18-plate unit comes to about 1.1 kg (2.4 lb) dry. Maximum flow for the frame is 4 m3/h (17.61 GPM); that is a ceiling for the ports, not a duty point. For a new duty, send the inlet temperature on each side and the flows, and we will say immediately whether this plate count is the right one.
