The B12Hx40/1P-SC-S 2x1 1/4" INT HEX+2x1"INT HEX is a 40-plate build of the SWEP B12. The H plate is the obtuse chevron: it gives the most heat transfer per plate and the most pressure drop, so it suits duties where approach temperature matters more than pump head. Reading the string: /1P is single pass; -SC is 316/316L stainless steel plates joined with copper. The closing S is the pressure class: 31 bar at 155 C. It is catalogued with 2x1 1/4" INT HEX+2x1"INT HEX connections. The B12 plate pack measures 287 x 117 mm (11.3 x 4.61 in) on 234 x 63 mm port centres, and by SWEP's published weight formula a 40-plate unit comes to about 4.6 kg (10.2 lb) dry. Maximum flow for the frame is 16.9 m3/h (74.41 GPM); that is a ceiling for the ports, not a duty point. For a new duty, send the inlet temperture on each side and the flows, and we will say immediately whether this plate count is the right one.
