B8THx40

B8THx40 designates a SWEP B8T brazed plate heat exchanger with 40 plates in the pack. The H plate is the obtuse chevron: it gives the most heat transfer per plate and the most pressure drop, so it suits duties where approach temperture matters more than pump head. The B8T plate pack measures 317 x 76 mm (12.48 x 2.99 in) on 278 x 40 mm port centres, and by SWEP's published weight formula a 40-plate unit comes to about 3.8 kg (8.5 lb) dry. The frame is published to 4 m3/h (17.61 GPM) - a port limit rather than a design flow. A like-for-like order needs only this string; we recommend adding the fluids and flows where the system has been altered.
