The SWEP P250AS is a single-circuit evaporator with AsyMatrix asymmetric channels, 304 stainless plates and copper braze. It was developed for air-cooled and water-cooled reversible chiller applications.
Large ports on a 620 x 202 mm plate. The P250AS measures 620 x 202 mm (24.41 x 7.95 in), builds up to 250 plates and has a published maximum flow of 62 m3/h (272.98 GPM).
One refrigerant circuit, and two unequal sides. The P250AS is a single-circuit unit, so it suits a chiller with one refrigerant circuit per exchanger; a machine built around two circuits in one exchanger needs a different model. The AS suffix means AsyMatrix asymmetric channels, not All-Stainless - this is a copper-brazed unit. Of its siblings on the same outline, the B250AS is also 304 while the F250AS uses 316 channel plates with 304 covers, so an F250AS nameplate should not be answered with a P250AS without checking the water.
304 plate, copper braze, four connection styles. Catalogued connections are threaded, Victaulic, solder and combo. Plates are 304 stainless steel with copper brazing, and the published approvals are PED, UL and KHK.
What the nameplate tells us. Every P250AS carries its build in the designation, for example P250ASx140: plate type, plate count, pass arrangement, materials and pressure class. The model number guide walks through the fields.
Best used as a single-circuit evaporator in reversible chillers running on clean, treated water.

The P250AS measures 620 x 202 mm (24.41 x 7.95 in) over the plate pack, with port centres of 538 x 112 mm (21.18 x 4.41 in). Connections on the catalogued builds: Threaded, Victaulic, Solder, Combo.
SWEP publishes the weight as 8.40 kg plus 0.3495 kg per plate, so the plate count off the nameplate sets what the mounting has to carry.
Match the port centres, the connection type and size on each port and the plate count, remembering that depth grows with the plate count. The channels are asymmetric, so the refrigerant and water lines must return to the same ports they left - label them before removal. Check the material code as well as the prefix, because the outline is shared with models in a different steel.
