The SWEP F250AS is a single-circuit evaporator with AsyMatrix asymmetric channels, built with 316 stainless channel plates, 304 cover plates and copper braze. SWEP developed it for air-cooled and water-cooled reversible chillers.
A tall plate with large ports. The F250AS measures 620 x 202 mm (24.41 x 7.95 in), builds up to 250 plates and has a published maximum flow of 62 m3/h (272.98 GPM).
AS means AsyMatrix, not All-Stainless. The F250AS is copper brazed; the AS in the name refers to asymmetric channels, where the two sides of the plate are deliberately different. SWEP's published channel volumes show it - 0.172 on one side and 0.202 on the other - so the refrigerant and the water each have their own side, and piping them to the wrong ports is not a harmless swap. The B250AS and P250AS share the 620 x 202 mm outline and 272.98 GPM ceiling but use 304 plates, so check the material code before treating them as equivalent.
316 channel plates, 304 covers, copper braze. Catalogued connections are threaded, Victaulic, solder and combo. The published approvals are PED, UL and KHK.
Reading the designation. A F250AS is ordered as a full string, for example F250ASx140. The model number guide decodes each field, and the string off the nameplate - whole or partial - is enough to confirm the build.
Best used as the single-circuit evaporator in an air-cooled or water-cooled reversible chiller.

The F250AS measures 620 x 202 mm (24.41 x 7.95 in) over the plate pack, with port centres of 538 x 112 mm (21.18 x 4.41 in). Connections on the catalogued builds: Threaded, Victaulic, Solder, Combo.
SWEP publishes the weight as 8.40 kg plus 0.3495 kg per plate, so the plate count off the nameplate sets what the mounting has to carry.
On an F250AS the port centres, the connection type and size on each port and the plate count all have to match, and depth grows with every plate. Because the channels are asymmetric, which fluid goes to which pair of ports matters too - mark the lines before the old unit comes out. Confirm the prefix and the material code, since the outline is shared with other 250AS models.
