The SWEP E8T is a versatile, very compact copper-brazed unit in 316/316L stainless, built for the majority of wall-hung, non-condensing boiler applications. It uses an All-Active plate pack, in which the front and back plates act as heat transfer plates.
Long, narrow and light. The E8T measures 315 x 73 mm (12.4 x 2.87 in), takes up to 40 plates and has a published maximum flow of 4 m3/h (17.61 GPM).
Seven models share this footprint. The E8T, BX8T, E8AS and E8LAS are all within a millimeter or two of 315 x 73 mm, the B8T, B8LAS and B8DW are slightly larger at about 317 x 76 mm, and every one publishes the same 17.61 GPM ceiling. What sets the E8T apart is the All-Active plate pack: no passive end plates, so a given number of plates does more work. The E8AS and E8LAS are tap-water models, the BX8T covers single-phase and two-phase duty, and the B8DW is double wall. Matching by size will not tell them apart; the model letters will.
SC material, 3/4 in threads. Part numbers on file are SC - 316/316L plates, copper braze - in the S pressure class with four 3/4" connections. SWEP publishes threaded connections and PED, UL and KHK approvals.
Ordering by the string. Quote a E8T by its full designation, for example E8THx40/1P-SC-S 4x3/4" rather than by the model alone - the fields after the model set the plates, materials, pressure class and connections. See the model number guide.
Best as the plate heat exchanger in wall-hung, non-condensing boilers across a range of outputs.

The E8T measures 315 x 73 mm (12.4 x 2.87 in) over the plate pack, with port centres of 278 x 40 mm (10.94 x 1.57 in). Connections on the catalogued builds: Threaded.
SWEP publishes the weight as 0.49 kg plus 0.075 kg per plate, so the plate count off the nameplate sets what the mounting has to carry.
The port centres have to match the boiler's hydraulic block, and so does the connection code - the catalogued 3/4 in connections are listed in more than one variant, and the suffix in the designation distinguishes them. Depth grows with plate count, so a higher-count unit may not fit behind the boiler's casing. Because several models share this footprint, confirm the model letters on the nameplate before treating the dimensions as proof.
