The SWEP V80 is a versatile evaporator on the B80 frame, flexible over a wide capacity range. SWEP presents it as a first choice for almost all evaporator requirements.
A wide capacity range from one frame. The V80 measures 526 x 119 mm (20.71 x 4.69 in) with port centres of 470 x 63 mm. It builds to 140 plates and has a published max flow of 74.41 GPM (16.9 m3/h).
Four models share the B80 outline. The V80, B80, F80 and P80 are all 526 x 119 mm with a 74.41 GPM max flow. The B80 and F80 are listed with 304 plates; the V80 and P80 with 316/316L. SWEP describes the F80 and P80 as optimized for a significant increase in heat flux, and the V80 as the versatile evaporator for diverse duties. They are rated differently, so the same plate count does not give the same duty. The mistake is swapping one letter for another because the unit fits the bracket.
SC material and class S on file. Published connection styles are threaded and solder; the part numbers on file use a 16 or 22U refrigerant inlet, a 35.1 outlet and 2x1 1/4"&28U combo water connections. Plates are 316/316L with copper braze, pressure class S on file, and approvals are PED, UL and KHK.
What the nameplate tells us. Every V80 carries its build in the designation, for example V80Hx50/1P-SC-S 16(27)+35.1(27)+2x1 1/4"&28U(27): plate type, plate count, pass arrangement, materials and pressure class. The model number guide walks through the fields.
Best as the default evaporator choice across a wide capacity range in the 18 to 75 GPM band.

The V80 measures 526 x 119 mm (20.71 x 4.69 in) over the plate pack, with port centres of 470 x 63 mm (18.5 x 2.48 in). Connections on the catalogued builds: Threaded, Solder.
SWEP publishes the weight as 2.60 kg plus 0.194 kg per plate, so the plate count off the nameplate sets what the mounting has to carry.
The B80, F80 and P80 share this outline, so confirm the model letter before the dimensions. Then match the port centres, the size of the refrigerant inlet - the catalogued units come with two different inlet sizes - and the combo water connections. Depth grows with plate count, so a unit with more plates than the original needs more room behind it.
