The SWEP B80S is the All-Stainless version of the B80 frame, with 316 stainless plates and stainless steel braze. It serves the same medium-size chiller, heat pump and oil cooling duties as the B80, on media that corrode copper or must not pick it up - ammonia, biogas, oil, deionized water and pharmaceutical fluids.
A tall, narrow plate. The B80S measures 526 x 119 mm (20.71 x 4.69 in) and has a published maximum flow of 17 m3/h (74.85 GPM). The datasheet lists up to 137 plates.
Four models share this outline; one is copper free. The B80, F80, P80 and V80 are all 526 x 119 mm with a 74.41 GPM ceiling, and all four are copper brazed. The F80, P80 and V80 are evaporator models; the B80 is the standard model in 304 stainless. The B80S is the only one of the group with stainless braze. The mistake to avoid runs both ways: fitting a copper-brazed B80 on ammonia or deionized water because it is the same size, or paying for All-Stainless on a plain water loop that never needed it.
SPS material code, M pressure class. Part numbers on file are all SPS - 316 plates with stainless braze - in the M pressure class, with four 1 1/4" & 28U combo connections. SWEP also publishes threaded and weld connections, and PED, UL and KHK approvals.
Reading the designation. A B80S is ordered as a full string, for example B80SHx60/1P-SPS-M 4x1 1/4"&28U. The model number guide decodes each field, and the string off the nameplate - whole or partial - is enough to confirm the build.
Best for chiller, heat pump and oil cooling duties on ammonia, DI water or other copper-sensitive media.

The B80S measures 526 x 119 mm (20.71 x 4.69 in) over the plate pack, with port centres of 470 x 63 mm (18.5 x 2.48 in). Connections on the catalogued builds: Threaded, Combo, Weld.
SWEP publishes the weight as 2.18 kg plus 0.231 kg per plate, so the plate count off the nameplate sets what the mounting has to carry.
The outline and port centres are shared with the copper-brazed B80 family, so they do not prove the model - the material code must read SPS. Depth grows with plate count, so check the clearance behind the unit and the reach of the mounting brackets. Confirm the connection type, since the model is published with threaded, combo and weld connections, and confirm the pass arrangement shown on the nameplate.
