The SWEP DB500, now designated DBD500, is a True Dual condenser: two refrigerant circuits rejecting heat to one water stream in a single copper-brazed plate pack. SWEP publishes it for flexible chillers, industrial heat pumps and modular reversible chillers.
The DB500 is the long-plate True Dual condenser at 304 mm wide. It measures 980 x 304 mm (38.58 x 11.97 in), is built with up to 298 plates, and has a published maximum flow of 83 m3/h (about 365 GPM).
Same width as the DB400, 286 mm more height. The DB400 is the True Dual condenser at 694 x 304 mm and about 335 GPM; the DB500 keeps the 304 mm width and stretches the plate to 980 mm, with the flow ceiling at 365 GPM. The DS500 has the same outline but is the evaporator. The selection mistake is treating the two heights as interchangeable because the width matches - the port centres differ, so the pipework does not line up, and the heat transfer length is different.
316/316L plates, copper braze, five connection types. Plates are 316/316L stainless steel with copper braze. SWEP publishes threaded, Victaulic, solder, flange and weld connections for the DB500.
Ordering by the string. Quote a DB500 by its full designation, for example DB500x140 rather than by the model alone - the fields after the model set the plates, materials, pressure class and connections. See the model number guide.

The DB500 measures 980 x 304 mm (38.58 x 11.97 in) over the plate pack, with port centres of 866 x 191 mm (34.09 x 7.52 in). Connections on the catalogued builds: Threaded, Victaulic, Solder, Flange, Weld.
SWEP publishes the weight as 12.00 kg plus 0.93 kg per plate, so the plate count off the nameplate sets what the mounting has to carry.
Height and width establish the model; the port centres decide whether the existing pipework meets the new unit. Each refrigerant circuit and the water side must come with the same connection type and size as the original. Depth and weight both climb with plate count, so confirm the space behind the unit and the capacity of the support before changing the number of plates.
